How much weight is put on letters of recommendation for medical school?
Q. How much weight do medical schools put on letters of recommendation? Would a short and impersonal letter from your professor kill admission chances? What if I were to get nice letters from people I have worked for (from volunteer places, work employees, etc) but the letters from professors were lukewarm?

A. Unless you've done research for a professor, a letter of recommendation from a professor doesn't add much to your application, as your grade speaks to the quality of student you were. It's not uncommon for professors to be asked for LoR's and if they don't know a student well, provide a 'form letter' type of LoR. Again, this isn't adding anything more than what your grade already indicates. It is far better to get LoR's from people who can attest to your character and compassion. LoR's from medical people get noticed, as will any from a research scientist. If your volunteer experience was in a health related environment, LoR's from senior managers of the program would be good. But a LoR from Suzie, the cashier, is worthless. Just… [cont.]

How to remove PRINTED letters on fabric?
Q. For example, there are some printed (not sowed on) letters on fabric that i would like to get rid of. I've tried "goof off" but its not really working, anything else out there that i can try? or is it better to fabric paint the printed letters|?

A. Paint, or scissors. They use a special permanent ink that, if anything, will only fade over a looong time.

Q. Is it ok to start your recruiting letters to colleges senior year? Im trying to play football in college and im going into my senior year and was wondering if i start my recruiting letters now will they effect me and is it good?

Senior year is the prefect time to start your college letters because it helps you to get the colleges you want and be able to choose from your options rather than rush and pick the first school that accepts you when you finish high school. Plus, there are some colleges that let you take college classes if you have a good grades while you are finishing your high school if you want to jump start.
