• Registrar General, responsible for the registration of births, deaths and marriages in England and Wales
• Registrar General of Canada, responsible for registering all documents issued under the Great Seal of Canada
• Registrar of Companies, for England, Wales & Scotland, deals with all document filings relating to the 1985 Companies Act
• Recorder of deeds, the government office tasked with maintaining a record of real estate ownership
• Registrar of Voters, the government office that maintains voter registration records.
• Court Registrar, the Court official responsible for running the Registry of a Court of Law.

In finance:

• Stock Registrar, a bank or trust company that keeps records of outstanding stock certificates for a public company. Often also acts as the stock transfer agent for the company.
